Having more than two million levels created by users in the original LittleBigPlanet, Media Molecule is back to let gamers go to town with their own user-generated levels with even more creative tools and options.

This time it’s not just about platforming; players are able to create top-down shooters, real-time strategy games, racing levels, puzzle titles, multiplayer arena deathmatches, and even sports games. Yes, Media Molecule would love for players to create competitive basketball games. Due to the incredible amount of items that have been expanded upon, the options are nearly limitless.

If players aren’t into creating their own levels, there will be a single-player storyline available to play offline. The complete campaign mode includes a Gradius-like level, so expect many levels inspired by classics of gaming history. The one thing players need to be aware of is that LittleBigPlanet 2 is as cute as any game throughout time and space. Along with that, it’s full of British humor, so that’s always a plus too.; if that's your type of thing

Feeding the community who is hungry to create and share their own levels, Media Molecule is introducing a new online search service that is found via the Internet to upload and share screenshots of their levels. This is a step in the right direction as players are able to Tweet the URLs of their levels and begin marketing their own creative prowess. Whether if they want to brag about a level that takes advantage of the Sixaxis controls or has Sackbots recreating scenes from Saturday Night Fever, the ability to share is going to be a boon of replay value for the series.

LittleBigPlanet 2 is backwards compatible with all levels found from the original and even upgrades the controls to that of the sequel. In addition, all of the objects, creations and items collected are eligible to move over to the sequel so that the community isn’t screwed over from the time the committed to the original.

Media Molecule hit a home run with the original and are about to hit a grand slam with LittleBigPlanet 2. Containing brilliant music and outstanding art style, LBP2 is a safe haven for creativity.
