After months and months of speculation, Rockstar Games finally confirmed today that Grand Theft Auto is "expected to launch" worldwide in spring 2013 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. There was no mention of a PC release.

"Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto 5 takes place in a re-imagined, present-day Southern California in the largest and most thriving game-world we have ever created set in the sprawling city of Los Santos and for miles beyond – from the tops of the mountains to the depths of the ocean."

Pre-orders for the highly-anticipated title begin next week on November 5, 2012. Additionally, fans can expect a whole lot of new information to become available in November, beginning with an exclusive feature story from GameInformer on November 8. The said Grand Theft Auto 5 story is features over 18 pages in print and is "full of details and screens".
