A playable demo of upcoming strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown is now available on PC via Steam.

Those who choose to download the demo will be guided through two levels of the single-player tutorial campaign where you'll experience the combat controls and tactics for defending humanity against the alien threat. The demo will also include the XCOM base, where soldier training and alien technology research takes place. It offers a chance to experience the many strategic layers of XCOM: Enemy Unknown. A demo for XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be made available "soon" for consoles.

In addition to today's demo, 2K Games detailed the XCOM: Enemy Unknown "Elite Soldier Pack" which will provide tools for soldier customization. By simply pre-purchasing the game from participating digital retailers, you will receive the Classic X-COM Soldier, Soldier Deco packs, and complete color customization.

A special edition version of XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be available for $59.99 on PC and contain a copy of the game for PC and a number of unique XCOM items, including an art book; fold-out poster of the XCOM headquarters; XCOM insignia patch; and a collection of digital bonus assets such as desktop wallpaper, soundtrack and more.
