NewsSony working with Bethesda to fix Skyrim problems on PS3
Bethesda isn't working alone when it comes to fixing the many problems for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on the PlayStation 3.
Speaking to Kotaku, Sony VP Adam Boyes confirmed Sony has "big, broad dev support team" that is working with Bethesda to solve the problems plaguing Skryim on PS3.
"We work with all of our partners to try and solve their problems," Boyes said. "We have a big, broad dev support team that works closely with Bethesda—and with all of our partners—to work with them to solve that any sort of issues they have along the way."
Since the release of Skyrim back in November 2011, Bethesda's hit RPG has faced a number of challenges. First PS3 owners had to endure constant freezing and slowing as the amount of game data increased through player progression until it became unplayable. Most recently, Bethesda has been unable to release any downloadable content for the game due to problems not revealed. Whatever the cause, Bethesda last month admitted to PS3 owners that they aren't sure they can solve the problem. As it turns out, Sony isn't too sure either.
"Of course, I always want everything to work always for everyone. I can't promise any kind of resolution or timeline but can say that everyone involved is trying their best to get this stuff working," Boyes added.
If you were hoping for a fix anytime soon on the PlayStation 3, I'd suggest you don't hold your breath. I don't think we are anywhere close to getting Dawnguard or Hearthfire onto the PlayStation 3 for quite a while — if at all.
