News2K Sports' annual 'Perfect Pitch Contest' spiced up this year
In a press release today, 2K Sports revealed that they will once again be putting on their annual "Perfect Pitch Contest" for their popular major-league baseball game, MLB 2K12. This year's contest, though, will feature several tweaks that will make for an interesting run to a million.
In past years, the first lucky person to pitch a perfect game was simply handed over a $1 million over-sized check. Lets just say that the check is one big peice of cardboard. This year, though, 2K Sports is now instituting an eight-person live - yes, live - tourney from which the $1 million winner will emerge.
MLB 2K12 hits store shelves on March 6, but starting April 4 (MLB's opening day), players on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 can try to pitch the perfect game in 2K12's Perfect Game Challenge mode. Those folks who manage to pitch a perfect game will receive a code to enter the www.2ksports.com/perfectgame website. A leaderboard will track every perfect game, and generate the eight-person live tournament.
